This is a 3D model for the Darksaber! By purchasing this you get all 12 .stl files required to 3D print and assemble your very own life-sized light-up Darksaber, as well as an .stl file with the fully assembled 3D model of the Darksaber. This is a digital-only item.
Building Instructions:
- Print out all the pieces (some file names will tell you to print more than one of a single part) Note: if you're planning on adding lights, you will need to print all the blade pieces with clear plastic filament. Print the handle with any filament you want.
- Glue the blade together with a hot glue gun, but not the blade cover pieces (so you can add lighting)
- Assemble your battery pack, button, and led lights
- Slide the battery pack inside and glue the button to the button hole
- Glue the led light strip to the edges of the saber Tip: if you want the blade to be more stable, you will want to glue a long, thin, light, and sturdy thing to the inside of the blade. A long, thin piece of wood could work. Or, you could glue popsicle sticks (or something similar) to each joint on the inside of the blade.
- Glue the blade cover on, and finish gluing the handle together.
- Cover the sides of the saber with tape and spray paint the blade with gloss black paint
- Spray paint the handle gray
- Print the holder if you want to hang it up You're done! Don't swing the saber or it will break :)
